Farm Update from Misses Farmer. See our cows! Hear about new calves, lambs + more.
It’s the middle of winter and I wanted to give you an update on what’s happening on our Adelaide Hills family farm.
It’s the July school holidays and our kids have been taking every chance to soak up being out working on our farm with their Dad.
Being outside. Working hard on real jobs that they can see progress on.Cutting fire wood, fencing and sheep work.
These are all hands on, active and physical work that our kids thrive in.
And feel great pride in their contribution to.
And the healthy dopamine surgefrom a job completed. That was worked towards with real grit and persistence.
We have had two new calves arrivein the past week.
They are so gorgeous.
And I am continuously amazed and the resilience of these Mama cows. Who just quietly head off to find a spot off in the rocks, or away from the herd to birth their calves.
And then before you know it, the calves are up trotting around.
And guzzling milk from their Mamas.
Our lambs are all born over the last two months.
They are thriving off the milk of their Mum’s.
Our pastures are looking really lovely from the rains we have had.
So the pastures are just what our lambs need for growing our in our paddocks into Spring.
This week Mister Farmer and Master Farmer were working on a fencing project.
Our steers and heifers are very social end mosy-ed on up to say hello. They are pictured below.
Our cows are looking in absolute tip top condition at the moment. We are so very grateful for every drop of rain we have recieved in this 2026 season.
Orders are open for our August Grass Fed Beef Boxes.
